Description

In honor of our Spanish Heritage we have created a recipe the not only is it good for you but it would also make your mouth water and remind you of home. It is a vegetable brown rice which includes Brown rice,spanish yellow onions, red sweet peppers, green sweet peppers, cilantro, chopped garlic, turmeric seasoning, paprika,salt and pepper to taste. And best of all peas, carrots and corn. Not only is it good for you but it satisfies your taste buds and it's healthy for your body.

Preparation

Oven/ Steamer Method: In a hotel pan toss onions,red peppers, and green peppers in oil. Place remaning vegetables in a roasting pan or spread on sheet pan in single layer, roast vegetables in a pre-heated 375 F until soft. Do not Burn Vegetables. Carefully combine vegetables and remaining ingredients into a 4 " hotel pan. Cover with plastic and aluminum foil and place into the steamer for 30 to 40 minutes or until rice is tender. Stove Top Method: Saute onions,green peppers, and red peppers in a pan or in steam kettle then add seasoning and rice mixing well. Add water and Peas, Carrots, and corn. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer,cover tightly and cook for 30 to 40 minutes or until all the water is absorbed and rice is tender. Turn off the heat and let stand covered for additional 10 minutes.
