Cinnamon Apple Quinoa

Combine the nutty, healthy flavor of quinoa with the unexpected sweet flavors of cinnamon, tart apples, and honey, and you get a very unique side dish, full of nutrients and great taste.

Ingredient 6 servings 50 servings
Quinoa, dry, whole grain1 c+2 Tbsp/7.5 oz9 cups 3 oz/3.9 lb
water10 oz10 cups 3.5 oz
cinnamon, ground2 tsp5 1/2 tbsp
honey2.5 Tbsp1 1/3 cup
salt1/8 tsp1 tsp
apple, Granny Smith, chopped1 cup1 qt 1/3 cup


Bring water to boil in a large sauce pan. Add quinoa. Simmer covered, stirring occasionally, for approximately 10 minutes or until water is absorbed and it fluffs with a fork. Roast chopped apples in 300 degree oven until tender. Add roasted apples, cinnamon, salt, and honey to cooked quinoa and mix. Serve 1/2 cup per serving.
